HOMECOMING (n.,adj.) n. the act of coming or returning home
Leslie left for Amman, Jordan in early January 2010-her homecoming was almost a year later. She returned on R & R from her post with USAID for a mix of business and fun. She will be returning to Jordan in late February - but for now - has been great to have her home. Having fun catching up with friends & family !
CELEBRATION (n.) special services or activities in honor of a particular man, act, time, or day
Although officially 90 on December 27, 2010, my Mom celebrated January 30th with a lovely reception in the church fellowship hall hosted by the family-everyone was there. Lots of family and friends dropped by for a true "Southern" reception.
FRENZY (n.) near madness; frantic condition; mental derangement
The week after the celebration Leslie, my Mom and me (Duncan came mid-week) spent time at the beach condo in North Myrtle Beach. Many days were spent in a shopping "frenzy"-keeping in mind that Leslie's shopping options are limited abroad - we made up for a year of "limitations"...the economy is back ! ...at least temporarily.
REUNION (n.) the act or process of coming together again
One last "defining" moment.....FORTY SIX YEARS ! A reunion of my high school cheerleading squad (North Johnston Panthers) was amazing. After all of those years (not having seen most at any time since the late 60's), we were able to pick up where we left off. Lots of gossip, catching up, etc. just like a group of 16 year olds !
Mixed in with all of these events, I actually celebrated my birthday-62 years ! ...which makes it also the two year anniversary of my blog...hope you have enjoyed-I will go on-no Webster word for that !
