How 'bout a little more sunshine, blue skies and rainbows? What a winter- but now can celebrate the beginning of spring - yes, it is official. 2011 has been a hectic year so far but am hoping for the days to settle down and life to normalize. Since last I posted Leslie has returned to Amman, Jordan (end of February) but what a grand time it was while she was here for five weeks. Although in and out of town, was fun to just have her in the USA. Eventually I did realize that she mangaes quite well on her own without me to furnish her with daily reminders-as she often pointed out in the waning days of her stay! Adult child or not, it is the "mothering" that makes me part of who I am....
Speaking of which....How 'bout a little more "TLC" ? Blake had ACL surgery in early March and for days I was able to "mother" but eventually even he could manage to hobble around on his own and I went my merry way. I like to still feel needed by spouse, child, family, friends.....who of us doesn't ? That is part of what makes us human. Although I admit that after a time, everyone needs their own space.
How 'bout a little more of this and a lot of that? A week with my Mom in Savannah mid March reminded me that in many ways I am becoming her SEE ABOVE !!-she (along with her sister - my Aunt Mark- and Genia - Aunt Mark's daughter-in-law) had a brief three days in Savannah, Georgia (I had never been and it is my new favorite city !) We did take our time but did manage several tours, shops, eateries, etc. When all was said and done Genia and I did agree that we could have taken them most anywhere and they would have had a good time -the fellowship of family is what means the most.
My latest project-storing my photos online...is a work in progress. How 'bout a little more dancing? Celebrated St. Patrick's Day with dancing friends-so much fun. The Wares did a grand job hosting a great party. Everyone should dance-at least once a week if not more !
How 'bout a little more stuff? NO THANK YOU ! Do we really need a lot? As I pack for the move downtown, I realize that when you have one box to store and one box to move - OF THE SAME THING - it is time to say enough !
How 'bout a little more time? In the end - with children, mothers, spouse, family, friends - that is what makes me smile. I am often in too much of a hurry to "get things done" that I lose sight of the joy of just being and being with others. Sometimes even the time by myself is taken for granted. I hope to settle in to 2011 and a kinder, gentler pace over the next few months and enjoy !! The same to you....
